My Lupus Champions,

Life isn’t always a smooth path. For those of us living with lupus—or any chronic challenge—every day can feel like a test of endurance, patience, and faith. This year, my journey has been filled with trials, but it has also been filled with triumphs that reminded me that even in the hardest moments, there is hope.

The Trials

It began with small setbacks that felt enormous at the time. In January, I sprained my leg coming down the stairs. A simple accident, yet it left me unable to walk independently for a month. Suddenly, everyday tasks became mountains, and I had to rely on others for even the simplest things. But in this dependence, I learned humility and the power of accepting help without guilt.

February brought a new challenge: sharp pelvic pain that lasted more than 20 minutes at a time. Medical tests revealed fibroids—a diagnosis that added yet another layer of complexity to my life as a lupus warrior. Lupus flares already made each day unpredictable, and now, my body was asking me to navigate even more uncertainty.

By mid-year, June and July delivered unexpected emergencies. A rash appeared on my face alongside a sore throat, escalating quickly into a medical crisis. I was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome (Herpes Zoster shingles), a condition that left me physically weak and emotionally exhausted. Each visit to specialists—from rheumatologists to dermatologists—was a reminder that living with chronic illness requires resilience, persistence, and courage.

August through October tested my endurance even further. Severe fibroid pain, persistent lupus flares, and repeated hospital visits could have easily defeated me. But every challenge became an opportunity to discover strength I didn’t know I had. On October 23rd, I underwent a successful myomectomy—proof that perseverance, hope, and faith can carry you through even the toughest seasons.

The Triumphs

Through every flare, every emergency, every sleepless night filled with pain and worry, I found triumph in the smallest victories:

  • Walking again after weeks of immobility.
  • Celebrating successful surgeries and healing.
  • Finding joy in quiet moments of gratitude, even amidst challenges.
  • Connecting deeply with friends, family, and fellow lupus warriors who reminded me I was not alone.

These triumphs, though sometimes subtle, remind us that success is not always measured by grandeur but by persistence, courage, and the refusal to give up.

Your Takeaway

To every lupus warrior reading this: your trials do not define you; your triumphs do. Every pain you endure, every obstacle you overcome, is a stepping stone toward the best version of yourself. Life may test you, but it also prepares you.

Remember, your battles are shaping your story—one of resilience, courage, and unwavering hope.

💜 Keep believing. Keep fighting. And celebrate every small victory along the way.
