What is Lupus?

Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus – SLE) is an autoimmune condition where the body’s immune system becomes overactive and attacks its own healthy organs and tissues. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, blood, brain, and many other parts of the body.

Lupus is not contagious, not a spiritual attack, and not caused by a curse.
It is a real medical condition that requires early diagnosis, proper care, and emotional support.

Common symptoms

Persistent tiredness and weakness

Joint pain and swelling

Skin rash or sensitivity to sunlight

Headaches and fevers

Chest pain or shortness of breath

Hair loss

“Flare” — When Symptoms Rise

Lupus symptoms can come and go, when symptoms suddenly become worse, it is called a flare.
Flares can be triggered by stress, infections, lack of rest, or exposure to sunlight.
